A fine mid 19th-Century lacquered-brass binocular microscope outfit, signed on the foot NACHET 17, rue S t Severin Paris , with monocular and binocular barrels, the latter with finescrew width adjustment, prism drawer and screw release clamp, each fitting into a sleeve to the rack and pinion adjustment, with micrometer, over a mechanical stage with verniers, substage mounting with sliding vertical adjustment and plano-concave mirror on an articulated arm, tilting between two columns from a U-shaped foot, with numbered Nachet objectives in canisters 1-9, 11, with a duplicate no.6, seven various eyepieces, two polarising eyepieces and a prismatic eyepiece, lieberkuhn, triple nosepiece, table-standing bull's-eye condensor, various other small lenses and condensors, a brass micrometer slider, a small quantity of slide preparations, with cover slip boxes, Nachet oil, mahogany slide-making table and preparation instruments, also with a brass bubble level in a tin sleeve, the German silver-mounted fitted rosewood case with red plush and silk lining and various trays, the inside of the lid with gilt lettering NACHET & FILS 17, RUE S T SÉVERIN, 17 PARIS , the steel lock cover further engraved Nachet à Paris , with two carrying handles -- 41.9cm. (16½in.) high
