A Pair Of Porcelain Vases From The Property Of Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna by the Imperial Porcelain Factory, St Petersburg, circa 1860 Each spherical with a tall tapering neck and flared rim, on conforming foot, the lilac ground body decorated with six white ground cartouches, framed within multi-coloured flowers, the neck decorated with three cartouches, each cartouche containing a multi-coloured butterfly, dragonfly or bee, the foot, rim and moulded band on the lower neck all gilt, each marked under base with dark green underglaze Curillic monogram 'A II' beneath the Imperial Russian crown Each 11¾ in. (30 cm.) high, 7 7/8 in. (20 cm.) wide at the body, 4 3/8 in. (11 cm.) diameter of the top, 5 in. (12.7 cm.) diameter of the base (2)
