A porcelain platter from the Yacht Service, Imperial Porcelain Manufactory, period of Catherine II (1784-1787) oval, the cavetto painted with six laurel swags and centered with a stylised gilt and purple cartouche depicting a black Imperial eagle with a wreath of victory in one claw and a flag depicting crossed anchors in the other, the border with stylised scrolling foliage and medallions, scalloped gilt and purple rim, with blue Imperial cipher for Catherine II length: 35.8cm, 14 1/8 in.
