Springfield Armory Model 1896 Krag bolt action rifle. Made 1897. Standard markings on the left side of the receiver. Faint inspectors cartouches on the left side of the stock. Circled "P" firing proof on the bottom of the wrist. Standard pedestal mounted blade front sight with a pattern 1896 rear sight. Original blued finish on the metal components. Stock and hand guard have have a light non original oil finish. Smooth metal butt plate with trap door. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its original finish with light wear and handling marks. Strong fire blue on the extractor. Stock has finish wear and handling marks. Bore is lightly frosted, but retains sharp rifling. Mechanically fine.
