A Very Rare 18-Bore Over-And-Under Flintlock Sporting Gun By Durs Egg London, circa 1790-1800 With rebrowned twist two-stage barrels each with chiselled girdle, the octagonal breech sections each with gold-inlaid signature 'D. Egg, Londini, Fecit,', gold-lined touch-hole, and two gold lines at the rear, the upper barrel with silver fore-sight, finely engraved tang, signed engraved bevelled locks each with roller, stepped tail, and gold-lined semi-rainproof pan (left cock repaired, right cock an old working replacement), finely figured walnut half-stock carved in relief with a floral spray behind the barrel tang, chequered grip (cracked) inset with owner's crest in silver, cheek-piece, finely engraved iron mounts including trigger-guard in the French manner, single iron sling mount, and later horn-tipped ramrod (some wear, iron parts with areas of surface pitting) 31½.
