Each card laid into leaves with windows for CDVs, and many are captioned on the leaf in ink. Portraits of famous figures in history, art and literature like Gustave Dore, Victor Hugo Samuel Clemens, Courbet, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Joaquin Miller, Bayard Taylor Louis Blanc, Louisa Alcott and Roger C. Tichborne, from the captivating 'Tichborne case' of identity fraud. Also including several great portraits of notables like Kings, Queens, & other royalty of Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Austria, Germany and England: Franz Joseph I of Austria and his wife, Elisabeth Empress of Austria and Queen of Hungary, known for her beauty and extraordinarily long hair; King Oscar II, King of Sweden, and Norway until the country gained independence in 1905; Christian IX of Denmark, known as the father-in-law of Europe, since most current monarchs are descendants of him; Otto von Bismarck who engineered a series of wars that unified the German states into a powerful German Empire under Prussian leadership; Kaiser Wilhelm, the King of Prussia and first German emperor. Plus many other government and royalty of Europe. Also included are several scenes of gothic churches in England, Paris and Switzerland, and a few views on the Rhine and the Alps.
