Antique Gold and Micromosaic Pendant Topped by a hinged tapered scalloped panel centering an oval panel of micromosaic flowers within white and blue tesserae, accented by fine gold wire decoration and granulation, supporting a circular panel depicting a micromosaic of two birds amidst a green tesserae background, surrounded by red, white and blue tesserae decoration of geometric motif, edged by a polished gold frame, suspending one oval panel with micromosaic flowers tipped by polished gold balls, flanked by two drop-shaped panels of red and white tesserae, the reverse applied with fine gold granulation, surmounted by a gold beetle, the hinged back opening to reveal a glazed compartment, circa 1870, several tesserae missing, approximately 16.2 dwts. Several tesserae missing or out of position. Gold is of bright rich yellow gold hue. Very nice detailed gold work on reverse. Good condition. 2 7/8 x 1 3/8".
