ANTONIN MARA (1877–1946) FROM THE DYNASTY OF THE PHARAOHS Starting price: 150 000 CZK (5 556 EUR) Hammer price: 300 000 CZK (11 111 EUR) Description dimensions: 78 cm (height) period: Around 1903, Behemia Antonín Mára studied under professors Klouček, Sucharda and Jenewein at the Academy of Art, Architecture and Design. In 1903 he left for Vienna, where he lived for six years and worked with architect Friedrich Ohmann whom he knew from his studies in Prague. In 1909 he returned to Bohemia and collaborated in decorating numerous architectural projects in Prague (decorations for the Hotel Palace facade, the Municipal House, the former Franz Josef Train Station building) and outside the city (Augustinian Monastery refectory in Brno, the Marian Chapel at Svatá Hora/Příbram). Carrara marble, marked "Mára" on base.
