Autograph album containing letters and clipped signatures by literary figures, politicians, officers, actors, musicians, scientists and peers, including John Ruskin Thomas Hastings John Fowler Anne Isabelle Byron, Sophia Fitzclarence, Richard Owen, Sir Robert Peel Julia Kavanagh, Charles Lamb, Sir Anthony Hope, Gathorne Gathorne-Hardy, James Hamilton autographs arranged by alphabetical order, with each letter hand drawn and elaborately decorated; original cover, with clipped engraved portraits of famous historical and literary figures pasted on front board, wear to margins, gilt page edges, tissue guards, some foxing to paper, oblong, overall size 27.5 x 37cm, late nineteenth century. Also included are two postmarked envelope signed by Lord Palmerston (London, 29 May 1965) and William Gladstone (Chester, 1 October 1886).
