A group of autograph letters, cut signatures and other items of literary, musical and political interest, including: Victor HUGO Autograph quotation signed, five lines of verse beginning 'tous ces faux biens qu'on envie passent comme un soir de mai', one page, 4to ; George SAND Autograph letter signed ('George'), n.d., an invitation, one page, 8vo ; together with letters and documents of Giuseppe GARIBALDI (1866), Benjamin DISRAELI (in 3rd person, 1875), Thomas CARLYLE (quotation 'Oh, for God's sake, don't take to collecting "Autographs"!', 1864), Jane Carlyle, Pauline Viardot, Louis Blanc and Queen Victoria (a commission signed, 1895), altogether approximately 34 letters, 8 cut signatures and 8 other items, many addressed to members of the Schillizi family, the majority tipped into the pages of an album, 4to, cloth.
