BAEDERKER, Friedrich Wilhelm Justus, Christian Ludwig BREHM and Carl Wilhelm Gottfried PAESSLER. Die Eier der europäischen Vögel. Leipzig and Iserlohn, 1855-1863. 2 o (380 x 300 mm). Lithographed title and 80 chromolithographed plates after Baedeker by Arnz and Co (some spotting and browning). Contemporary half calf (worn). Provenance : F.C. Kinsky (ink stamp on lithgrahed title and front free endpaper). FIRST EDITION with the 1863 imprint on the title and the preface dated 1855. Beautifully illustrated with more than 1,500 eggs of European birds. Originally published in 10 parts, the work published was with various title pages: a title page with an 1855 imprint that omits the name of Paessler and a title without any place or date. The Ayer copy is bound in one volume (as above), other copies are bound in two volumes. [ Laid in :] Kosteletz an der Adler. Lithographed view.
