Mounted photogravure portrait frontispiece, 77 mounted plates, all but one after Bakst, 50 printed in colour and 4 folding, head- and tailpieces after Bakst. Original half vellum gilt, Bakst signature in facsimile on the front board, the spine lettered and decorated in gilt, top edge gilt, others uncut (vellum lightly soiled, one corner worn, extremities rubbed, upper side scuffed). Provenance : Natalie K. Blair (1887-1952; Blairhame bookplate at Tuxedo House). FIRST EDITION of this luxurious, richly illustrated publication with full page reproductions of Bakst's splendid designs. One of 80 deluxe copies; this one, like the V&A copy, without the aquarelle.
