Palau 83722. – Erste Ausgabe der Gründungsstatuten der heute noch unter dem Namen "Bank of the Philippine Islands" existierenden "Banco Español-Filipino de Isabel II", das älteste Geldinstitutder Philippinen und des gesamten südostasiatischen Kontinents. Am 1. August 1851 hatte der spanische König Alfonso XII. die Bank in Manila etabliert, der er den Namen seiner Mutter, Königin Isabella (1830-1904) gab. Schon ein Jahr nach der feierlichen Weihe konnte die Bank ihre volle Tätigkeit aufnehmen, vor allem als erste Distributorin des ersten Papiergeldes für die Philippinen. – Minimal gebräunt, kaum fleckig, Ränder gering brüchig, insgesamt ein bemerkenswer schönes Exemplar dieses überaus seltenen Drucks, der einen großen historischen Entwicklungsschritt der Inselwelt markiert. English: First edition of the statutes of the "Bank of the Philippine Islands", still in existence today. Minor browning, hardly any stains, slightly brittle in the margins. Altogether beautiful copy of this extremely rare print. Original wrapper with litography on front cover, bound in modern boards.
