"Basoli's 'Prospettive serie' include plates that seem worthy predecessors of the most blustery early Hollywood movies (such as those by D. W. Griffith). The extensive representation of wood and carpentry in many of the plates is also remarkably unlike contemporary Italian topographic views, still largely under the sway of classicizing Roman views, and show thorough knowledge of the scaffolding techniques necessary for stage construction. Equally recurrent is the Egyptian motif, which in the form of obelisks, sphinxes, pyramids, and sculptures invades the composition of exotic sites" (Millard). – Es fehlen vier Tafeln.
