Bernardo Bellotto (1720-1780) Vuë de la Grande Place du Vieux Marché, du côté de l'Église de Ste. Croix et la Ruë de la Porte neuve (De V. 17; K. 175) etching, 1752, De Vesme's second state (of three), Kozakiewicz's second (final) state, with the Saxon Coat-of-Arms incorporated in the plate, a brilliant early impression, with excellent atmospheric contrasts conveying sunlight and shade, and the guiding lines of the text still distinct, with an indistinct proprietary watermark, with margins, the usual central vertical fold, partly split and repaired at the top and bottom (extending approx. 112mm. into the subject), touched-in unobtrusively in places at the top with pen and black ink, one or two soft creases, otherwise generally in very good condition P. 542 x 841mm.
