(Short marginal tear to first leaf, inner bifolia of most quires reinforced at gutter, causing some acid-staining, some worming and occasional dampstaining to gutter margins throughout, bifolium 4/5.6 browned.) 18th-century half calf, spine in compartments with gilt fleurons, morocco lettering-pieces (worn, upper cover nearly detached); modern morocco folding case. Vindelinus de Spira (or Wendelin of Speier) was the brother of the prototypographer of Venice, Johannes, whom he succeeded upon the latter's sudden death in 1470.
