BOILEAU-DESPREAUX, Nicolas (1636-1711). Oeuvres . Amsterdam: David Mortier, 1718. 2 volumes, 4° (380 x 240mm). Titles in red and black with engraved vignette, text within typographic border with woodcut initials, engraved frontispiece in vol. 1 by and after Picart, folding engraved portrait of Wilhelmina Charlotte Princess of Wales by F. Gunst after Kneller, 6 plates by and after B. Picart, engraved head- and tail-pieces by Picart. (Without the final blank in vol. 1, some scattered spotting.) Contemporary red morocco, sides with gilt French fillet, spines gilt in compartments, gilt edges (spines lightly darkened, sides lightly scuffed). Provenance : Chrétien-François de Lamoignon (1735-1789; his stamp on p.3 of each volume; label in volume 2).
