(Lacking one plate of birds and 2 leaves of text, several plates of mammals and one of birds slightly stained at blank margin, light spotting and occasional marginal soiling to a few plates.) Contemporary green half calf, gilt spine compartments with red calf lettering-pieces, marbled edges (corners slightly worn). Provenance : Frederick du Cane Godman (bookplate). The complete work was published in 30 parts, comprising 3 volumes with a total of 180 plates. Volume I included the ornithological section.
