The Longitude Found: or, a Treatise Shewing An Easie and Speedy way, as well by Night as by Day, to find the Longitude, having but the Latitude of the Place, and the Inclination of the Magnetical Inclinatorie Needle. London: Printed by W. Godbid, and are to be sold by the Author, 1676. Small 4to, contemporary calf, rebacked, corners renewed, sides worn, some slight marginal soiling, without the engraved extra plate of the inclinatory needle not always present , FIRST EDITION, 7 engraved plates (one with small marginal chip ), with the extra leaf "This Treatise...hath been Examined by [the King's] Commissioners..." Wing B 3564. Provenance : An 1820 provenance note on front flyleaf; St. Mary's College, Oscott, Birmingham, bookplates and release stamp.
