Original printed wrappers (a few short marginal tears to upper wrapper with tape repairs on verso, clean splits to spine. Provenance : RAMON FERNANDEZ (1894-1944), author (presentation inscription by André Breton on half-title). FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, inscribed and signed by Breton on half-title: "A Ramon Fernandez, très amical souvenir d'André Breton." Ramon Fernandez, born in Mexico and educated in France, published two novels Le Pari, 1932, and Les Violents, 1935, and contributed to the Nouvelle Revue Francaise from 1923-1943. A fine association copy. Errata slip laid in.
