Chaucer's Prologue and 394 numbered leaves (with erratic printer's foliation errors), [14] terminal leaves, including final blank; collates [a]^(6) b-c^(6) [par.]^(4) A-V^(6) 2A-2T^(6) 2V-2X^(8) 2Y-4A^(6) 4B^(8). Front board detached, binding worn; the frontispiece and title frayed (the latter separating at the gutter margin), but these leaves largely complete; some toning and staining to the text, worming in the bottom margin towards the center of the work, but overall in about average condition for this work. This copy does not have the errata leaf. Edited by Frances Speght, this is an important Elizabethan edition.
