Black letter, double column, title within woodcut border (McKerrow & Ferguson 232), engraved portrait of Chaucer within border showing coat-of-arms of his progeny by John Speed ([a]6r), full-page woodcut coat-of-arms on c4r, head-piece woodcut of a knight between ornamental half-borders on B1r, numerous 4-, 6-, and 7-line woodcut initials. Folio, 314 x 201 mm. (12¼ x 8 in.), 17th-century calf, gilt-lettered red morocco spine label, some wear at edges, rebacked; small hole in text on 3F5 (affecting a few letters), some minor marginal soiling, early owners' signatures on title. Seventh edition, with errata leaf at end. Grolier Langland to Wither 36; Pforzheimer 178; STC 5080.
