Lot of 4, including: Quarter plate tintype of two soldiers posed arm-in-arm in from of the flag, the taller man wearing a Colt revolver and cartridge box on his belt. Housed in a scroll Union case. Quarter plate tintype of two soldiers posed with cavalry sabres. Housed in a rare Sir Henry Havelock Union case (Krainik-24) with space for another quarter plate image. Quarter plate tintype of a bearded soldier posed with a carbine affixed with sword bayonet and wearing a belt with cartridge box and a second sword bayonet. Housed in a geometric/scroll Union case with a label under the plate noting the tintype was found in Somerset, PA, and possibly shows a soldier of the 140th Pennsylvania Infantry, and that the gun is an 1859 French "Carabine de Vircennes." Quarter plate ruby ambrotype of a second lieutenant posed with his sword. Housed in a Sir Robert deCoverly and the Gypsies Union case, (Krainik-29). Condition: All Union cases very good. Image with minor scratching where the mats meet the plates. Ambrotype with scattered small spots.
