Housed in a Union & Constitution Union case (Krainik-27). Quarter plate tintype of a soldier identified on plate's verso as John Phillips / Tioga, Pa., Civil War / A friend. Housed in a Crossed Cannons and the Liberty Cap Union case (Krainik-25) with space for a second image. John Phillips served as a private in Co. I, 45th Pennsylvania Infantry, from Dec. 8, 1864 to July 17, 1865. Condition: Both tintypes very good. Cases excellent.
