ENGRAVINGS BY HENRY SUTTON (C.1624-1665), considered one of "the outstanding makers of mathematical instruments" (Daumas p.64), had collaborated with Collins in 1658 for The Sector on a Quadrant" , the quality of his engraving earned praise a century later when Edmund stone described his work as "the finest divided Instruments in the World". An advertisement at the end of the preface offers instruments made by "William Sutton in Upper Shadwell", his relationship to Henry Sutton remains uncertain.
