cover 10c Green type I, 1c Blue type II (13, 7), horizontal pair of each, large margins to slightly in on one side, one 10c stamp has couple small tears, all tied by "San Francisco, CAL. 5 May" c.d.s. cancel on fresh blue linen-lined cover from Hawaii to Brooklyn, N.Y., faint strike of red "HONOLULU* U.S. Postage Paid *APRIL 8" c.d.s. of origin, this style of postmark confirms payment of U.S. postage in Honolulu, it is believed that this is an 1857 usage and was likely carried on the ship Fanny Major which departed Honolulu April 8th and arrived in San Francisco on April 28, 1857, a very desirable double rate cover with the Hawaiian postage paid in cash, A FINE AND VERY DESIRABLE COVER, THE TEN-CENTS TYPE I PAIR MAKES THIS AN ESPECIALLY SCARCE FRANKING ON OUTWARD-BOUND MAIL FROM HAWAII photo
