A Review and Panorama of an Unique Gold Field, with Geological Features and Achievements of Five Eventful Years, Including Outlines of Numerous Companies Author: Place: Colorado Springs, CO Publisher: Warren & Stride Date: 1896 Description: 104 pp. Map frontispiece, photographic illustrations, including a folding page illustrating places of interest, plus 2 folding maps. 30.5x23.5 cm (12x9¼") original brown wrappers, lettered in gilt. First Edition. A scarce work on the gold mining operations of Colorado Springs. No copies of the book have been sold at auction in nearly 50 years. The folding map at front is of Cripple Creek Gold Fields, by Henry L.J. Warren. The second folding map is of "Economic Geologic Map of the Cripple Creek District." A nice review of gold mining in Colorado Springs and Cripple Creek. Lot Amendments Condition: A chip to corners of front wrapper, and spine ends, a few faint spots of dampstaining on front wrapper, small chip to edge of rear wrapper; contents are near fine; very good overall.
