Some browning to inner margins of plates (not affecting illustrations), stitching renewed, some light wear and finger soiling to wrappers, light soiling and minor repair to wrappers of part 5. Provenance. William E. Self (bookplate to case, Christie's April 2, 2008, lot 27). FIRST EDITION IN ORIGINAL BI-MONTHLY PARTS, THE SELF COPY. Featuring nearly 200 figures on 40 plates, offered as extra-illustrations to Chapman and Hall's monthly issues of The Posthumous Paper of the Pickwick Club. Each plates-part accompanied two parts of the novel. Yale/Gimbel H1077. Pictures Picked from the Pickwick Papers. [London: F.T.
