Durchgängig gebräunt, teils stockfleckig, vereinzelt mit Abklatsch, 2 Bll. des Index von Bd. 2 mit kl. Loch, Vorsatz mit Knitterfalten, alter Besitzerstempel auf Innendeckel. Fehlen wohl 9 Bll. Gesamtindex. First edition, second issue. 6 parts in 2 volumes. "A splendid work" (Great Flower Books) with engr. title vignette and 432 engr. plates in contemporary colouring. "The 'Flora Londinensis' is much more comprehensive in scope than its title suggests, for it embraces most of the English flora, as a result of which it should be properly regarded as the first colour-plate national flora of England" (De Belder). - Browning throughout, foxing in places, plates numbered by pencil, little hole to 2 leaves of index vol 2, minor pencil marginalia in places, some off-setting in places, old owner's stamp to inner cover. Lacking 9 leaves index. Old calf, rubbed and worn, spine renewed.
