DICKENS, CHARLES]. A large group of original drawings by F. W. Pailthorpe and Charles, Green and Mahony, and prints by Hablot K. Browne and others: F. W. PAILTHORPE. 5 original pencil and wash drawings for the Household Edition of the Pickwick Papers (London: Chapman and Hall 1872-73), 2 for full-page illustrations and 3 for vignette titles to vols. 2, 3 and 4, each on brown paper, laid down on card , each accompanied by several states of the etchings (colored and uncolored), with an autograph presentation note signed with initials to an unidentified recipient (probably C. E. Lauriat, Jr.), n.d., cloth folding case ; 21 pencil and watercolor vignette drawings for an edition of Great Expectations , tissue guards, folding chemise (broken), morocco folding case, spine sunned , laid in is an autograph note signed to C. E. Lauriat Jr., London 21 June 1912, one page, small 8vo, with envelope , presenting the drawings and referring to ?the above set of Pickwick drawings which Pailthorpe had given to Lauriat the previous year -- CHARLES GREEN and MAHONEY. Eleven drawings, of which 8 in pen-and-ink, 1 in gray wash and 2 in watercolor, for the Household Edition of Little Dorrit , matted and bound into a red morocco gilt album by Riviere & Son (worn), foxing -- HABLOT K. BROWNE ("Phiz"). Fifty-Seven Illustrations to the Pickwick Papers, London: Chapman and Hall 1872, half morocco gilt , manuscript title with mounted colored wood-engraved vignettes by the Dalziel brothers and others after Browne, 57 colored wood-engravings, each within variously colored hand-ruled borders, from the Household Edition of the Pickwick Papers -- SAMUEL WELLER. Thirty-two illustrations to the... Pickwick Club, London [n.d.], 8vo, loose in original printed wrappers, cloth folding case, calf slipcase , bookplates of Sir D. L. Goldsmid-Stern-Salomons and Lewis A. Bird -- GERALD M. BURN.
