Elle a été tirée à 350 exemplaires (tirage non précisé), tous sur simili Japon. “The publication of the Librairie Six represents Eluard’s first collaboration with Ernst in Paris. The poet Eluard had visited Cologne with his wife in 1921 and had chosen some of Ernst’s collages to illustrate his poems after meeting the artist: this was to result in Eluard’s Répétitions , issued in 1922 by the publishers Au Sans Pareil with Ernst’s work in a limited edition of 350 copies. Published in Paris, the prose poems of Les Malheurs des immortels were written jointly by Ernst and Éluard in Cologne in March 1922 and in the Tyrol the following June”( From Manet to Hockney 66).
