Federal Mirror Clock by Joshua Wilder, Hingham, Massachusetts, c. 1815, pine case with gilded frame, cornice and rope molding, floral and leaf reverse painted glass masking the 8-inch dia. painted iron dial with Arabic numerals, gilt band and signed on the reverse, J. Wilder, Hingham, looking glass backed with original packing crate cover inscribed J. Wilder Hingham Handle it very Carefully, brass eight-day time and passing strike movement with front mounted bell, recoil escapement, through bolt case attachment, pendulum, original key and lead weight, ht. 28 in. Literature: Joshua Wilder's wheel cutting engine and several clocks are in the J. Cheney Wells Collection at Old Sturbridge Village and shown in Philip Zea and Robert C.
