Dort wurde er mit den Futuristen Giacomo Balla (1871-1958) und Umberto Boccioni (1882-1916) bekannt, in deren Kreis er 1915 aufgenommen wurde. 1919 eröffnete er in Rovereto ein futuristisches Kunsthaus und 1959 das erste futuristische Museum, die Galleria Museo Depero.
