Hypselosaurus Maastrichtian, Late Cretaceous Var, Aix en Province, France This dinosaur egg clutch comprises one of the most plentiful examples of this species of dinosaur egg found in Southern France during the 1980's. Hypselosaurus is closely related to Apatosaurus; it is a plant-eating dinosaur from the Upper Cretaceous sediments near Var, France. The mere size and the nearly spherical shape of these eggs evidences the immense size of their quadripedal parents; it is speculated that an adult Hypselosaurus could attain a weight of nearly 20,000 pounds.
