Das Lothringer Kreuz in Verbindung mit der Distel als heraldisches Motiv im Wappen von Nancy hatte eine doppelte patriotische Bedeutung, es kommt früh und oft auf Fayencen von Gallé vor, später auch auf rauchfarbenen und farblosen Gallé-Gläsern mit Emaildekoren.
