Two autograph letters signed, the first to Henry Barry, Spinner Street, 16 April 1810 , being an elegant apology for not having called upon him before before inviting him to his house to meet Grattan, Curran and Cumberland, one page, 4to , integral address leaf, docketed, laid down, seal (folds of address panel weak); the second to Thomas Hill Skinner Street, 14 December 1814 , relating to a financial matter, 'I must consider your aid as falling with my endeavour, & that I cannot hope for assistance from you', one page, 4to , integral address leaf 'Thos. Hill, Esq New Inn', (seal tears, some wear at folds). Godwin was introduced to Henry Gatton by John Philpot Curran on the tour of Ireland he made in 1800 at Curran's invitation. (2)
