Beschreibung:

Nordrussland um 1800. Eitempera über Kreidegrund auf Holz, partiell vergoldet. Halbfigurige Darstellung der Gottesmutter mit Christusknaben, flankiert von den Heiligen Grigorios, Theodor Stratilates, Daria und Anastasia. Altersspuren.
H. 65,5, B. 48,1 cm.
Die Urikone wird traditionell dem Evangelisten Lukas zugeschrieben, entstand aber erst im 12. Jahrhundert und befindet sich in der Kathedrale von Kostroma. Sie ist als Beschützerin der Romanow-Dynastie bekannt, da der erste Zar aus diesem Haus, Mikhail Romanow, eine Kopie besaß, die er mit nach Moskau nahm.

Northern Russia circa 1800. Egg tempera over chalk ground on panel, partially gilt. Mother of God with the Child Jesus, accompanied by the saints Grigorios, Theodor Stratelates, Daria and Anastasia. Signs of age.
H 65,5, W 48,1 cm.
The original icon with this type of depiction is traditionally ascribed to Luke the Evangelist, but it was only created in the 12th century and is located in the cathedral of Kostroma. It is known as the protector of the Romanov dynasty, because the first tsar from this house, Mikhail Romanov, owned a copy, which he took to Moscow.
