HEATH, William (1795-1840) & John DOYLE (1797-1869)] A Collection of Caricatures, London: T. McLean, [c.1829]. 2° (292 x 432mm.). 43 hand-coloured etchings by William Heath and 4 hand-coloured lithographs by John Doyle, mounted. One plate with long but clean tear, occasional light marginal spotting.) Contemporary half calf (worn, covers detached, lacking spine). A collection of satirical political prints, mainly by William Heath Heath became well known for his singly issued caricatures which were mostly published under his pseudonym Paul Pry. Between 1829 and 1851 John Doyle produced a series of 917 prints satirizing the public face of English politics, which he generally signed "H.B.". Sold as a collection of plates, not subject to return.
