HILLERMAN, TONY A comprehensive collection of the works of Tony Hillerman , from his first book The Blessing Way, 1970 to Shape Shifter, 2006. The collection includes, in most instances, proofs or advance reading copies, as well as first American editions, first British editions (where issued), first paperback editions, first audio cassette editions etc. A very high proportion of the first editions (and many of the other books) are signed or inscribed by Hillerman. Many of the first editions originate from the Carter Burden or Tom Lewis collections. All materials generally in fine condition, in protective cases. Tony Hillerman's novels, set in the Four Corners region of the Southwest, feature memorable characters from the Navajo Nation as their chief protagonists, most notably Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee. Hillerman's first book, The Blessing Way, is present as an uncorrected proof, signed and inscribed; the first trade edition; the first British edition; as well as several variant paperback editions, and the audio cassette version. The same degree of completeness is present for almost all titles, which include The Blessing Way; The Fly on the Wall; The Great Taos Bank Robbery; The Boy who made Dragonfly; Dance Hall of the Dead; New Mexico; Rio Grande; The Spell of New Mexico; Listening Woman; People of Darkness; The Dark Wind; The Ghostway; American Southwest; Skinwalkers; Indian County; A Thief of Time; Talking God; Joe Leaphorn Mysteries; Words, Weather & Wolfmen; Coyote Waits; The Jim Chee Mysteries; Talking Mysteries; The Best of the West; Navajo Taboos; Hillerman Country; Leaphorn and Chee; New Mexico/Rio Grande; Sacred Clowns; The Mysterious West; Finding Moon; The Fallen Man; The First Eagle; Canyon de Chelly; Hunting Badger; Seldom Disappointed; Buster Mesquite's Cowboy Band; The Walking Wind; The Sinister Pig; Skeleton Man; and Shape Shifter. Also included in the collection is Louis Hieb's 1988 bibliography (one of 100, signed); and several other peripheral publications. Where limited and trade editions were published, both are present. In many instances proofs are present. In short, this is an extremely comprehensive author collection, and one that, because of the wealth of proof and inscribed materials, would be very difficult to assemble today. Further details, including a comprehensive list, available upon request. C
