With illustrated title page and 96 hand-colored miniatures and illuminated initials by Hilaire-Antoine Kreins after the originals. (4to) 29x22 cm (11¼x9"), library's cloth backed blindstamped boards. 1 of no more than 225 copies. First Edition. First lithographic facsimile printing of a little-known 15th-century chivalric novel preserved in manuscript form in the library of the Ducs de Bourgogne in Brussels. On the list of subscribers includes Renier H. G. Chalon, president of the Society of Belgian Bibliophiles and the perpetrator in 1840 of the immortal Fortsas Hoax. Also present is one of his principal victims, Baron De Rieffenberg, keeper of the Royal Library at Brussels. With the decorative bookplate of the Forbes Library, Northampton, MA. Brunet, pp. 1430-1431; Graesse, III, p. 292. Lot Amendments Condition: Some wear and soiling to binding with rubbing to extremities, library markings on spine; perforated library stamp on illustrated title page, library plates and stamps on pastedowns; very good.
