JEFFERSON, Thomas, and James MADISON. Partly printed document signed ("Th:Jefferson" as President, "James Madison" as Secretary of State), accomplished at New London, Connecticut, 30 December 1806. 1 page, oblong, 411 x 510 mm., large papered Great Seal of the United States at left, small seal beneath. In very good condition. Bold typographical heading "Thomas Jefferson," text printed in four columns, in French, Spanish, English and Dutch, neatly accomplished in manuscript and signed at bottom by Mayor Jeremiah Brainard. A FOUR-LANGUAGE SEA LETTER, issued in New London (a major port) to the ship Lion , Amos Clift, master, bound for Demarary, "laden with Livestock, Provisions, Lumber."
