Lot of 8, including the following: Seven (7) vintage contact prints on printing out paper, each approx. 4 x 6 in. or slightly bigger, featuring portraits of American Indian subjects taken by L.A. Huffman: Miles City, Montana Territory, printed late 19th - early 20th century. Five feature Huffman's signature, which may be printed/stamped on the image (difficult to discern). Identified subjects include Crow Indian Deaf Bull; Mrs. Rain-in-the-Face (both); daughters of Dull Knife, Cheyenne; Cheyenne girl Spotted Fawn; Tall Bear, Minneconjou Medicine Man; two braves; and two Sioux children. Copy image on cabinet card mount of Low Dog (ca 1846-1894), an Oglala Lakota chief who fought with Sitting Bull at the Little Bighorn. After image credited to D.F. Barry, produced ca late 19th century or after. Incorrectly identified in pencil on verso as "Rain-in-the-Face." Condition: Low Dog cabinet card, image a bit light. Minor surface soiling. Mount with edge/corner wear. Vintage contact prints loose (not mounted on cardstock). Toning to some. Most with some corner/edge wear, remnants of adhesive on corners of some.
