The charts were exactly re-engraved after the originals by H. van Loon and C. Berey. Including part 1: engraved allegorical title by Jan van Vianen printed title with engraved vignette, 3 shipping plates, full-page engraved plate for calculating phases of the moon, latitude, etc. , in Dutch, French and English, 29 hand-coloured double-page engraved charts; part 2: engraved allegorical title, printed title, 9 engraved hand-coloured charts (5 double-page) of the French and English coasts and including a large folding chart of the Mediterranean all by Romein de Hooghe. - Some colour offsetting, mild browning; slight staining here and there; slight creasemark to part of plates; small restored tear to centerfold of one plate, little hole to single chart. Recent half-calf gilt to style. A good copy.
