L'Entrée triomphante de leurs maiestez Louis XIV... et Marie Thérèse d'Austriche... dans la ville de Paris.Paris: Pierre Le Petit, Thomas Joly, and Louis Bilaine, 1662. The lavish festival book depicting the return of Louis XIV and his bride Marie Thérèse of Spain to Paris, where they were greeted with great pomp and circumstance. Pérlement commissioned the festival and the work is arranged in four parts: the reception at Vincennes; the triumphal arches; the solemn procession; and the concluding ceremonies with fireworks display. Watanabe 1862 (calls for 22); Lipperheide Sg 9 (calls for 23); Vinet 501. Folio (429 x 268mm). Engraved frontispiece by François Chauveau engraved portrait of Louis XIV by Nicolas Poilly after Mignard, engraved dedication leaf, 17 engraved plates, many folding or double-page and one extremely large with 5 parts, by Jean Marot and Chauveau after Le Pautre (large folding engraving of procession reinforced at one crease; some light dampstaining at margins).
