Crapelet (Paris: 1821); Lesné's Lettre d'un relieur français à un bibliographe anglais (Crapelet, 1822); and Lesné's two-leaf prospectus for his "reliures à bordures typographiques" (1835). Although his fame rests on several vigorous defenses of French bookbinding against Dibdin's criticisms, Lesné was himself an amateur binder of considerable merit.
