MARCEL VERTÈS (1895-1961) CARCO, Francis, Rue Pigalle . Paris: Bernard Grasset, 1927, 8° (250 x 180mm.) lithographs printed in colours, 1927, on Japon Impérial, title, text, justification and set of fourteen, with the suites of each plate in various states, a refused plate printed in black, and the additional drawing, copy number 6 from the edition of 22 on this paper (the total edition was 338), with margins, in good condition, bound in blue morocco, overall design representing neon signs of various nightspots in palladium, gilt tooling and variously coloured morocco inlays, spine lettered in black on red morocco onlay, map of the 'Quartier Pigalle', in two-coloured calf and red morocco, as front and back liners figured cloth doublures, morocco-backed chemise, slipcase by J. Trinckvel and J. Fache from a design by Paul Bouet
