One of only an estimated 20 total Uzi submachine guns brought into the United States and registered prior to the 1968 amnesty. These examples are seldom encountered, especially outside of a private collection and at auction. The receiver is only stamped on the left side of the receiver with its serial number "052799", with a small "63" stamp present on the bottom rear. Small Israeli "1" within a diamonds proof are visible on some exterior components. The left side of the trigger housing is stamped with 3 Hebrew characters denoting "AUTOMATIC", "SINGLE", and "SAFE". Bolt is stamped "99", matching the last 2 digits of the receivers serial number. Features include a parkerized finish, 10 - 1/4" chrome-lined barrel, Model A pattern front and rear sights, grooved black polymer handguard and pistol grip, as well as a 1-piece solid wood stock. NFA registry lists "Israeli - I.M.I." in the manufacturer block. PROVENANCE: From the collection of esteemed NFA firearms enthusiast and collector J. R. Moody. CONDITION: Excellent, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their factory-applied parkerized finish, exhibiting some scattered minor superficial marks from handling and storage overall, as well as some light silvering from operation of the action and disassembly. Mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined rifling throughout. Polymer furniture shows some minor marks from handling and storage overall but is otherwise fine. Black polymer selector switch bears a crack at the tip but is otherwise fine. Solid wood stock is very good, exhibiting some scattered marks, small dings, and minor impressions from handling and storage overall. An exceptionally scarce example of a Curio & Relic eligible IMI Uzi, befitting of the advanced NFA collections.
