Naval interest: a dated commemorative glass goblet, raised on a square foot, bearing the coat of arms for the Cinque Ports and the date 1st August 1799 in gilt decoration, 16.2cm. This goblet was probably made to celebrate the Royal Review at Mote Park, Maidstone on 1st August 1799, where King George III and William Pitt met over 3,000 of the Kent Volunteers, defending the area against Napoleon.
