OVIDIUS NASO, Publius (43 B.C.-?17 A.D.). Les métamorphoses ... gravées sur les desseins des meilleurs peintres français. Paris: Basan & Le Mire, [c. 1770]. 8° (248 x 163mm). All-engraved with title, 2-leaf dedication, a further 138 plates after Charles Eisen J.M. Moreau, C. Monnet, F. Boucher, and others, a fine cul-de-lampe after Choffard, and 20-page table. (Slightly dust soiled, occasional repaired tears to margins.) Fine dark blue morocco by Rivière, gilt supralibros, nonuple rule border, spine gilt in compartments, edges gilt. Provenance : purchased from Pro-Libris, 1954.
