(Without final blank, title and second leaf with marginal repair just touching two letters on title). Blue morocco by Brugalla, 1940, gilt supralibros, gilt spine-lettering, turn-ins and edges. Provenance : purchased from Antonio Creus, 1939.

Provenance : purchased from Antonio Creus, 1939. Second edition. The best known work by Palomino de Castro is El museo pictorico y escala optica , first printed in Madrid in 1715 (see next lot for the second edition). It was through that work and those that followed, including the present Vidas de los pintores , that Palomino became known as the 'Spanish Vasari'. Palau XII, 210729.
